Liquid error (sections/product-hero line 212): product form must be given a productEngineered for the moment everything goes wrong.
Twelve boards between you and the strike.
High-density polypropylene boards line the front and sides of each gaiter, forming a rigid shield that disperses the force of a strike before it reaches your skin. Engineered for the backcountry — and tested where it counts.
420 grams you'll forget you're wearing.
The 1000D Oxford shell flexes with every step while adjustable nylon straps lock the fit — no slipping, no rubbing, mile after mile. Protection shouldn't slow you down, so we built these to move the way you do.
Rain, mud, thorns, scree — shrugged off.
Waterproof-coated and abrasion-resistant, this is gear that keeps going as long as you do. From dawn patrol to last light, the IRONWOOD gaiters stand between you and whatever the terrain throws back.

Frequently Asked
Are they fully waterproof?
Yes. The 1000D Oxford shell is waterproof-coated to shed rain, morning dew, and shallow stream crossings. For prolonged submersion we recommend pairing with waterproof boots.
Will they stop a snake strike?
The 12 high-density boards form a rigid barrier engineered to resist the fangs of common pit vipers and rattlesnakes across the protected zone. No gaiter is a substitute for caution — but they dramatically reduce risk in snake country.
Are they adjustable?
Fully. Dual nylon straps with alloy buckles cinch around calf and ankle, and an under-boot stirrup keeps them in place. They fit a wide range of leg sizes and boot heights.
How do I clean them?
Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry — it can compromise the waterproof coating.
What sizes fit?
One adjustable size fits roughly US 6–13 / EU 39–47. The straps accommodate everything from trail runners to insulated hunting boots.
Customer Reviews
Was bushwhacking through palmetto and took a hit I never saw coming. The board stopped it cold — didn't even break the fabric. Wearing these every hunt from now on.
Expected stiff, hot, and clunky. Got the opposite. I did 14 miles in these and barely noticed them. The straps actually stay put.
Excellent thorn and snake protection. Knocked one star because the buckles take a minute to dial in the first time, but once set they're solid.
Forestry work means wet ground all day. Feet and shins stayed dry and protected through a full week of fieldwork. Worth every dollar.
